Press Release from Daisy Green x Ackerman Studios:

Peggy Jean, our lovingly restored former Jesus College Oxford barge, enjoys unparalleled views of the Thames, Richmond Bridge and Richmond Riverside. A stunning water-top dining destination, the historic barge and sun trap pontoon combines quintessential Oxford College Boat race charm with relaxed and inspired Aussie beach club vibes. It makes an ideal location for a lazy weekend brunch with friends or a summer sunset dinner. On board there is an intimate bar and dining space perfect for a cosy evening.

Commissioned by the Daisy Green Collection and Ackerman Studios, this body of work was created in response to the theme of water.

Each collage tells a different story about water: what goes on it, what goes in it, reflections, refractions, fun times, how it moves and its rhythm. Water holds memories, it brings life and it flows to new horizons. Stallard dives into this notion, using materials collected on travels, bleached out by the sun and weathered hand-printed papers reworked through digital processes. By combining shape, pattern, colour and imagery she has created a series of colourful and composed artworks that invite the viewer to dive in too.

Alice Stallard is a contemporary British artist, whose mixed media collage and illustration centre around scenes of playful narratives and a sense of adventure. Employing a combination of digital and tactile processes, Stallard layers found and hand-coloured papers, photographs, hand-drawn images, magazine cuttings and everyday ephemera to create limited edition prints, mixed media originals and 3D objects. Traces of folds, etched and stitched marks are also found in the tactile surfaces of her work reflecting the histories of the materials used and the rich and colourful nature of her work.
