Cut. Stick. Sew. Fabric Collages.
The fragments brought together in this body of work all started life as something else. From different decades, centuries and from other sides of the world, individually they have washed, wrapped, carried, transported and clothed. These collages are made from materials that have ‘lived’.
I have collected, cut, stuck, stencilled, printed, stitched and glued them. Re-imagining and transforming them, in response to personal narratives, colour, pattern and texture, into poetical montages. Weathered and worn whilst remaining vividly present, these fabric collages convey subtle transient feelings hinting at memories of possibilities.
